Terry (Linda) Albert

My wife Linda and I have been attending FCC for 35 years. We are both retired high school teachers. Linda taught business classes, and I taught math, mostly Algebra. I also coached football, baseball and golf during my 36 year teaching career. We have three grown children, and five grandchildren. We are currently involved in leading a Small Group. Over the years we have served in various ministries. Currently Linda serves in Women's Ministries, and I am serving on the Elder Board.

Tim (Binsey) Cote

Tim and Binsey (Carolyn) have been members of FCC for over 10 years. We were introduced to Christ when we were high school sweethearts and attended Chuck Smith's Calvary Chapel in the 70's. We were baptized in the ocean along with many others in Corona Del Mar and were married by Chuck's associate pastor, Romain. We've been married for 45 years and have 4 married children and 8 grandchildren. Tim holds a Master's degree in Biblical Studies. Binsey holds 3 certifications in Biblical Counseling and serves FCC as a counselor and teacher. We love the Body of Christ, and seeing Him formed in others is our greatest joy.

Alex (Shirely) Hinzo

My name is Alex and this is my wife Shirley. We have been married 20 years. I have called FCC my home since 2002. I've served as elder 11 of those years. Small group leader for First Responders.

Garold (Joni) Shaffer

I’m Garold and my wife Joni. We have three kids and seven grandchildren. We have attended FCC since 1979.

Ralph (Kathy) Schell

Members at FCC for over 40 years. We have 3 grown children (Rachel, Kati and Michael) and 3 Grand kids. Of course that makes us empty nesters. Ralph grew-up in Arroyo Grande and Kathy in the Central Valley. Kathy was a missionary kid, spending time in Papua New Guinea.

David (Michele) Herrera

My name is David Herrera. I am originally from So Cal but my family relocated to the Central Coast in 2001, with a 4 year old, 5 month old and a dog. My wife Michele and I have been married for 28 years. Our son and his wife currently live in Tennessee with our grand-pup, Harley. We also have a daughter who recently married and lives in the OC with her new husband. We have attended FCC going on 11 years. Michele and I are part of the Couple’s Ministry, we have always had a heart for couples. We did not have mentors when we first married and can see the importance of others sharing their stories and giving support. We are very happy to be a part of the FCC Family!

Bill (Kathy) Johnson

Bill Johnson and his wife Kathy have been married for 36 years, and have two adult children. They have been members of FCC for over 25 years. Over the years at FCC they have had the pleasure of leading a small group for over 10 years, participated in the greeting ministry, home building mission trips and Kathy has been keeping babies company in the nursery during first or second service for over 15 years.

Mike (Sheryl) Knight

Mike Knight and his wife, Sheryl, have been members of First Christian Church since 1976. They met at Westmont College and were married in 1968. They have two married children who grew up attending First Christian, six adult grandchildren, and three great grand children. Mike is a retired Probation School Teacher. He has served the church as an elder, Bible Study teacher, and Board member throughout his time at First Christian.

Brett (Karen) Zimmer

It has been such a blessing to have called FCC our home church for the past 33 years. My amazing wife, Karen and I, have been happily married for 35 years and we began attending FCC when we were expecting our first child. With God’s grace and the support of the FCC family we have raised 4 amazing kids and are now enjoying being new grandparents. We have been blessed to have served in the church in different capacities throughout the years. I am currently serving as a board elder and Karen is currently serving on the greeting team.

Jon (Diane) Cox

My wife and I have been married for 36 years and have attended First Christian for about 25 years. Diane and I were both born and raised in the area. We have four adult children and three grandchildren. I am a graduate from Cal Poly, and recently retired independent businessman with a 40+ year career. In addition to the church board, I am on the Missions Executive Team, Missions PAC Team, co-leader of a Bible Study, and one of the Serve Santa Maria representatives from First Christian.

Mike (Kathy) Buckey

Mike and Kathy Buckey, have called FCC their Church home for 20+ years. We’ve been married for 20 years and have two grown daughters and 3 grandchildren. Mike began serving as a deacon in 2004 and became an elder a few years later. He’s served on the elder board for ten years, and as an officer for five of those years. He is active in men’s ministry, and is one of the men’s BSF (Bible Study Fellowship) group leaders that’s hosted by FCC. Kathy’s heart for women leads her to be active in women’s ministry; teaching and facilitating women’s Bible Studies. Mike and Kathy love the Lord and their church family and consider it a blessing and a privilege to serve Him and our First Christian Church family.
